how much to turbo our car?
#1

Was just wondering about what it costs to turbo our cars. No super big, 1000hp setup, just a nice driveable turbo. Don't need a breakdown, just about what the final price is.

Later everyone!!! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

there have been a couple threads here lately.

flash is working on a setup (supercharger, i think?). you may try emailing him or searching for his post.

i think there was a company out of england that also had one. can't remember his screen name.

i'd suggest doing a search.

that really depends on the condition of your motor - a turbo setup by itself, installed is probably about 15k or so - you'll see people say it's less, but those who have actually done it, end up with about that much into it (or more) - this is presuming that you are paying somebody doing it

the engine rebuild you would need if things aren't perfect can be added to that

. . . how bout a Vette engine silver bullet?

My buddy locally is figuring with a 968 engine resale value he can come pretty close to breaking even and have close to 400/400 to show for it <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Its definitely something I'll be considering when the time comes. The LS1 is just such a good engine.

Powerhaus in Arizona has a turbo conversion that has been around for a while that puts out 450RWHP for about $20K +. It's suppose to be bullet proof but has no CARB certification....
