How much have YOU driven your car?
#1

Seems to be lots of posts of total miles/kilometer on cars but maybe it would be of interest to know just how much you have actually driven yours?

My coupe as been driven by me 169,800 km in 5 years 1 month.
My cab has been driven by me 28,500 km in 2 years 6 months.

Bought mine April 06 with 98k miles
now have 145k. Was a daily driver till April this year.

I don't understand people who buy'em and just park'em. Or only put a few hunderd miles a year on them.
Just seems real waste of money to me.

They are realitivly cheap cars.

I bought it with about 56,000 miles on it IIRC, and added 50,000 to it in the last six years. It started out as a daily driver, but then in the last couple of years it's been mostly a weekend, and long trips driver.

Bought mine in 1995 with 20K miles.
14 years later, driven at least 6 days a week, 52 weeks/year, I am at 141K.
I've gotten my money's worth out of this car.

lol - well pat, not everybody drives all that much, and spread across 3.5 cars, i have a hard time logging any real miles on any of them, and the miles i do log tend to be on the utility vehicle, since i'm usually having to cart something somewhere, or i have to sit in traffic, or just running a quick errand, all of which is hard on the car - the 968 is the least practical car for the driving i do the most - it's hard for me to get more than maybe 2k a year on either of the 968s - where would i go? i can only host so many events a year - it's not by choice, but rather by circumstance

6,000 miles in 17 months. A play vehicle until recently, now using it as a semi-daily driver cause its too fun just to walk by it every day.

Seems to me that most here that are not using them as DDs are tweaking and modding. Making them more of a hobby car. Get the paint and everything just right and your gonna be a bit more careful. I get that.

Along the same line of thinking, once you start to factor in all the mods and labor the car is quite expensive. Then when you start to think that insurance inst going to fully cover all you put into your car. I can understand why some would be a bit protective and cautious. You do a lot of your own wrenching but when you add up your time and cost in mods your 68 is worth quite a bit, perhaps ebay wont reflect it but the money /time is in there.

Huh, add up your all rims w/o the car and your sittin on 15 grand

I bought mine in 1996 with about 22K miles. It now has about 140K on it and it is a daily driver. It has also been up to Yellowstone on a couple on fly fishing expeditions. It only takes me two days to get to Yellowstone from Alameda driving the 968. It gets a lot of long haul trips throughout California.

My 968 is a toy, I usually take the train or my company car, so in the 1.5 years I have owned it, I have added 5000km. She is up to 92 000km now. I try to avoid short trips and the Netherlands is not exactly driving country...but 1 hours drive from my house is the authobahn and that is where i go to get my fix. There is nothing that can compare to giving a Porsche free reign on the autobahn.

Bought mine in April 2003 with 57k miles on the odometer. It now has 176k miles on it - and the only reason it doesn't have over 200k is that I bought a PT cruiser two years ago that I now use in the winter and on summer days that are too lousy/hot to contemplate putting the top down.

18K miles on it 7 years ago when I bought it

36K on it now. Most of that when I lived in NC. Now that I'm in VT I only drive it about 1K per year.

I will summarise all of these data on the weekend. We have some real heavy users and also some infrequent drivers.
