Hall Sender
#1

So what's the latest story on Hall Senders? Sunset Porsche or better source? While in the middle of replacing most of the steering system I noticed a clip laying around by headers. Some looking around found it went to the connector for the hall sender off the distributor, the connector off the wire from the distributor has crumbled away and the two connectors were just laying there. Not sure how I never noticed this while driving the car, it is chipped so perhaps that helped negate the issue.

I found the same thing on my car (but in my case it happened quick and was noticed) I just found an old plug from something in my toolbox and wired that in (works fine) Just waiting for a group buy or the like to get a new one.

There was a group buy on these and extra connectors were available. The Hall sensor back by the firewall uses the same connector. The car will run with the front sensor disconnected, but break the fragile plug on the rear one and it's dead. There is a BMW sensor that can be used to replace the rear hall sensor at about half the price if the sensor dies. On the front plug I reassemble it with J-B Weld and it worked fine. I got in on the Hall sensor buy and will be replacing it soon, I sure the sensor itself is pretty worn. The plug was broken during a smog check, but it passed anyway.
