Glad My Hall sensor failed (long rant)
#1

Hey all,

That ^ may seem like a strange thing to say but let me explain (and ask).

[start rant]

Monday I started my baby to go to work (3rd shift ); it started, coughed hard and died .

Started it again and it ran like shiznit (wont idle, dies) no time, have to get to work (jump in winter beater and go ). I sweat my worst fear since then; (a slipped t-belt)

Flash back--about 3 weeks after I did my W/P (right after getting my toy) wife was driving the beast and left it in the driveway after work (she was afraid to park in the tight single door spot), well I got in to park it and it ran rough "WHAT THE F*** WOMAN?!" - "Oh, that started at lunch." "ARGGGG!" Well that time it turned out to be (I'm not pulling your chain here), the cam had some how jump 3 teeth backwards (yup, backwards, never did figure out how)

Jump to 30min ago(well longer after writing the novel)--So I give up hope and go pull the covers to reset the belt hoping it didn't bend valves; but the marks are dead on (relief to a point but now what?). Check for fault codes (#15=all ok). On to my best service resource (968Forums ) And search; I found a tread about rough running and tried the solution (disconnect the hall sensor). Magic- it starts and runs.

Now the questions--#1Does this thing had 2 hall sensors? I thought I remember reading that somewhere. #2 is there any plans for a group parts buy this winter? I'm in no hurry now that winter is here but thought I would start get the shopping list started.

[/end rant]

Yes there are two hall senders in the car but the other one is on the bottom side of the engine and they work independently of each other(it's not a replace one, replace both thing). I just replaced the hall sender on mine this summer. The best price I found for the oem porsche part was $185 at sunset. I was releived as well when I found out that was the problem with my car. It ran really horribly when that was broken and I thought that it was something really serious(and expensive to fix).
