Group Buy on Porterfield R4-S pads
#81

Well I got mine in the end!, (thanks Flash) had to pay an extra £28 for import VAT, but still cheaper than buying in the UK. very pleased, just trying to find a few hours to fit em now.....

glad they made it - that was quite the learning experience

i have setups for 2 cars here - i bought some myself and parked them for the 2 cars - i might be persuaded to cut loose with them though, since i really don't need them any time soon, and could buy more later

let me ponder that for a day or two

SO who has installed their pads and what do you think?

I had Pat grab mine and we keep missing each other.

Flash, "if" you make the decision to sell them in a couple of days, i'll be your man.

Yes I am also interested in bagging the group buy pads if you are letting them go cheap. I plan to destroy the OEMs I have on now, as I don't like them very much and they create way too much dust for my taste. I can't wait to get back to the Porterfields and iRotor combo that bva has - a great set up.

i mis-spoke

one of the setups here belongs to 968synchro - i mistakenly put them with mine (running out of cabinet space)

so, i only have the one setup, and i think i'll hang onto those, as i am going to get back to my rotor project fairly soon

OK no prob. When mine are burned up I'll see if there is interest in another group buy.

3 things i learned this go around:

1. never arrange a group buy if it involves shipping

2. never ship overseas

3. see 1 and 2

this started out clean and easy - i was just supposed to bring a bunch of them to hershey - then it morphed to shipping them domestically via post office (i won't be doing that again) - then it further morphed to shipping overseas (i won't be doing that again either)

i'm pretty done with this - call livermore performance - they have a great price, and are set up to ship

Hi all,
just want to thank Flash for the pads. Replaced the backs 1 month ago and just replaced the fronts and did the brake fluid. This car is easy to do compared to others. Don't have to take off the calipers at all. No problems with
brake noise etc and I didn't use the funny clips for the retraction of the pads into the calipers even though I had them. Even reused the sensors (if you are careful)....
So, once again.... thanks FLASH!!!

So what are your thoughts? Impressed, disappointed.. stops smoother, harder, fillings removed from head after first hard brake.. anything?
