I wasn't sure if this should go on the Hershey thread or the Ready, Set, Blow...

Flash's is the 3rd Supercharged 968 I have driven. It is by far the most civilized. I was surprised how there was no whistle, and how smoothly the power was delivered. As was stated, if you didn't know it was there you would think that is was just an EXTRAORDINARILY powerful car...not heavy handed or brutal in any way.

What I noticed first was not having to shift...the power was just...there...it was uncanny really.

When I did get a chance to step on it, it gave me a physical reaction [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif[/img] ...

That's my unscientific review...

I'm trying to figure out how to convince Melva that I need a belt driven aspiration device (to accomodate better fuel consumption). [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif[/img]

Bob was kind enough to give me a ride in his supercharged masterpeice at the Hershey event last weekend. First of all, Id like to apologive to Bob for my language while on the drive...Im pretty sure that I repeatedly dropped the F-BOMB everytime that he hit the accelerator! The supercharger setup not only is estheitically BEAUTIFUL, but performs flawlessly with the 968 engine. The power is constant, aggressive, and smooth; I was very impressed! Definitely feels like a completely different animal; one with a hell of a lot of power. Im really looking forward to installing this kit. Thanks Bob!

as for the second batch, that is entirely dependent on the accumulation of orders - we will run the second batch when enough orders are placed

lol - not any time soon - i'm at LEAST 3 months from even thinking about that - i'm tired and need a break

i still have to figure out the rest of the differences in the cars - we already found out that there is at least one ECU that will not work with the kit (there will be more on that very soon, so hang on)

i'm not sure i want to ship outside the US anyway - it is incredibly complicated, and i won't do it without going through proper channels and the appropriate import duties

lol - while i can appreciate the enthusiasm and desire, with as much drama as we have seen over the years, and as much grief as i have already gotten elsewhere, we are being EXTREMELY cautious about where this goes - we will take no chances whatsoever that it will end up on a car that is not ready for it, nor on one that we don't know enough about to determine whether or not it is safe or will work properly - we just cannot afford to take a black eye because we jumped the gun, or let it be installed on anything other than the specifically intended model, and it then did not work out as planned

heck, we still don't know if it will work with 92 rods yet

so, as for ROW cars, until we know for certain what all the differences are, and can determine that this will work with those differences, as well as fuel changes, we will not release this to ROW

firefish - you can answer a few questions though to help facilitate this:

what ECU part number is in your car?

what chip part number is in your car?

what year is your car?

does your car have an O2 sensor? (the kit will not work without one)

does it have a Catalytic Converter? (the kit will not work without one, and in fact, might not work without the factory one)

92 rods - yes, there is a chance - i am waiting to hear about what the rods look like on a supercharged motor that blew up - theoretically there is LESS stress on a centrifugally supercharged engine, due to the smoother power curve, and the reduced revving - but, we need to be sure first

ROW - that is definitely the correct ECU and OEM chip combination - this may work - it is my understanding that the 968 did not use the same jumpers as did the 944 when it came to ROW cars, with the exception of the cat delete cars - the maps are in there, but it seems they never used them, or they were left over from an earlier ECU

O2-sensor - don't know, where does it sit? Or by O2 do you mean lambda? If so, yes I have them.
Chip P/N - 267 357 459.
Catalytic converter - yes.
Model - 1995.
ECU P/N - will check.

To the best of my knowledge all european ROW spec cars are the same (engine) and they all have catalytic converters et.c so don't expect to find anything strange here. Other markets maybe, like further east or Africa.

the earlier models are the primary ones of concern, but we do need to verify the ECU, as we have discovered there is a difference in them, and the tuning is done only for the late ECU/chipset (luckily this is about 90% of the cars)

the good news is that even if you have the early ECU, you can change it to the late one

just for clarification for those who refer to the ECU relay as the ECU, we are not talking about the relay, but rather the computer itself

also, do not assume that just because you have a later car that you have a later ECU - we just found a later car with an early ECU - verify the number
