Gearbox lubricant
#1

After searching I couldn't really find a definitive answer here. But my question is lucky a simple one.

What type of gearbox oils is best for this car? Mine is a '92 coupe with a 6spd manual and the 220 diff.

I use Redline 75W90 Gear Oil - recommended for most street driven and racing differentials. Excellent performance in conventional and limited-slip units. Also for limited-slip manual transaxles which require a 90 WT oil. Contains limited-slip friction modifiers.

As the LSD from '92 is a clutch driven one instead of a torsion this should still work, right?

I'm using Swepco, was using Redline before but after switching to Swepco the shifting was much easier.

i USE A PRODUCT CALLED sWEPCO OR SLIPCO, NOT COMPLETLY SURE OF THE ACTUAL BRAND NAME AS IT MAKES THE SHIFTING ESPECIALLY ON COLDER DAYS MUCH EASIER.

woops sorry aboutthe caps, big fingers, lousy typist.

U are right, but it seems they sell stuff for the construction-industry (roof construction) over here, not car lubricants. They don't even have a local website as they refer to the US one. Strange...

I'll have to look into the Redline one.

Any other suggestions, and remember I need a lubricant that works with a clutch LSD.
