no DIY really - to drill the holes, line it up on the bumper cover - clamp in place - mark with a sharpie - drill

then sandwich it between the front apron and the bumper cover

I have been looking for a front splitter for some time, but the drop in value of the £ has made this a very expensive potential mod.

Never being scared of having the mickey taken out myself for using non porshe items, I have looked at other cars that may have a suitable donor part. Some may have seen my "orthopaedic" arm rest in a different , topic.

Below are some pictures of the item I have just ordered. (Thanks to "oily" for the pics of 924911928's car)

This splitter is from a SEAT Leon Cupra R and was the grand total of ................................£23.00 or just over $30.

So what are your thoughts on this particular mod?

I like, especially, as any splitter costs more in shipping than the product here is SA. Seat is here, and parts are cheap. Do you have the part number?

After nearly a year I have finally fitted the Cupra splitter. Not for the purist I know, but I'm happy with the result.
The Cupra unit had to be trimmed a little and I had to cut the "tabs" off the front of the batwing to get a better fit. I rivetted the splitter to the batwing where possible to keep it tight and had to add an extra self tapper at each end to stop it from springing out.
I had to use much longer screws in the middle 5 holes at the front and I hid these with some 15mm pipe.
A cheap upgrade (about $30) and not the hardest DIY.
Not the best photos I'm afraid

There's always a few on Ebay uk lik this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SEAT-LEON-CUPRA-R-FR...=item35a4149b57
Might be worth asking about shipping to the US as it could be cost effective doing this way.

WOW! That price is dirt cheap.

How much does it stick out? It appears to be pretty short and hard to see while standing. Which may prove to be an advantage in certain situations.
I'm going for a particular look and need it a bit longer.

It doesn't stick out very far, the pictures towards the top of the page give a better view.
An original turbo splitter would look better, but I'd rip it clean off the first time I drove up my driveway.
They are however, cheap enough to try and throw away if you're not happy.

Nice!
Not bad considering the cost.
99% of people would never know the difference.
