not much of a chance of that - gert at carnewal is the only source i know of for the polyurethane motorsport splitter, and he is in europe - not cheap either



the fiberglass and carbon ones both always get destroyed - it's just a matter of time - you get what you pay for there



the tech-art unit is no longer available



i haven't replicated mine yet

it's the only one that is polyurethane - it is the porsche motorsport unit that came on the turbo s and rs - i had one and the quality is fine, but the design meant that i kept folding it under every time i came out of a driveway (my car is lowered)



the others don't fit right, and disintegrate on impact with nearly anything



the one on my car, while fiberglass, is a complete wraparound unit, which eliminates the issues of the lip type design of all of the other units (except the now discontinued tech art unit) - i am going to replicate it, but it won't be for a few months



strosek makes one very much like mine, but it is $900

lol - yeah - i'll get to it as soon as the weather turns and i'm not driving the car - as long as i've been at everything, i'm going to drive it for a while before i take it off the road to do the splitter - probably october or so



but, i expect the unit to be less expensive than the motorsport unit for sure

Judging by the drooling splitter mania we all seem to have here, I bet whoever has possession of the TechArt splitter moulds could turn a tidy profit if they decided to do a new run of them. Unless the cost turned out to be outrageous, I'd definitely go for one.

back in March, I had a conversation with Mark Shepherd at Deutsch Nine about replicating the Techart splitter. At that time he was looking for their pattern to do a fiberglass repro. I haven't heard from him since...guess I should rattle that cage again.

I met a guy at the the Hershey Sawp Meet that makes splitters. He had one on his car. Not sure whether it was a 944 or 968. I have not contacted him yet as I have had other things to work on. The contact is Royal Motorworks, Mike Godlfarb in Lancaster, Pa. 212-278-7381. Let me know if you contact him as I am defintely interested in getting a new one.
