LOL. Well i do my Turbo homework. In the process of building a websight dedicated to the factory Turbo cars (both Turbo S & Turbo RS). Working on getting pictures, colors, & option codes to match to all the vin's i've collected. Not easy.

I'm currently trying to find a some way to contact "Strahle Autosport" if anyone can help. 5 968's were raced in the ADAC during the 90's 3 Turbo RS cars & 2 Turbo S (which were converted to RS Spec) cars. Strahle Autosport raced one of them, but dont know what the VIN was or where the car is today.



Back on topic,

Replicas are almost never as strong as original's. They also almost always weigh more. If you track the car or live in pot hole city (NYC), it matters. The weight is going to slow your car down & the weaker wheels will bend/crack much easier.

Nobody in their right mind is going to track Speedlines or RH replicas. Speedlines are really heavy and the RH aren't much lighter. Both will bend the outer ring if you go over a curb, the RH will bend before the Speedline. There isn't much sidewall to absorb an impact and I would guess on a track car it probably is a stiffer sidewall.. Driving around on the streets is a different story, my RH wheels survived the roads of Philly which suck for potholes and bumps.

As a note to this conversation. I have one of the original turbo rs rear spoilers and front spoiler from the porsche motorsports group. I can tell you it was a royal PITA to get. Also, customs lost several important pieces which took more time to track down.

The front spoiler was a polyurethane piece but the rear spoiler was fiberglass or some such material. Needless to say, the fit quality was horrible and required a lot of work to get right. I honestly expected a LOT more coming from porsche. I am guessing that the replicas coming from D9 are a better quality than the factory since there main goal was to improve it from the start.

Do you still have it?

I also believe the after market suppliers will have a better fit and an easier install. I'm not a stickler for orig Porsche parts. I want what works.

My wing has no numbers on it while my old wing, splitter and everything else seems to be marks with a number from Porsche. So it my CF wing may not be orig. Either way, getting it to line up took a lot removal and re-aligning. It still needs a couple of washers to really be snug but its holding up fine.

Man does it put a smile on my face to look at it.
