Clunks, sways, and deadspots
#1

I've gotten used to the idiosyncracies of my particular car in the past 2 years. Good or bad I drove another 968 last week and it exhibited none of said problems - it drove very nice and smoothly as I have always thought that it should. The 3 that I worry about the most are as follows.

1) Upon turning from a stop or going over a speed bump I can hear a clear and repeatable clunk - groan from the right front. Searching turned up 2 potential culprits. Sway bar bushing or castor block.
2) Steering is completely dead on center. Can turn the steering wheel a good 1/4 to 1/2 inch either side of center with no resistence, feedback, or movement of the wheels.
3) When taking an aggressive turn I have to plan the turn because the wheels respond a tick after I turn the steering wheel, then she bites in and goes.

What say you as to causes for above?

The clunk is probably the castor blocks. Inspect them good, looking for cracks in the rubber.
