i think rap was merely making a humorous comment on the fact that anybody who uses one, already knows how beneficial and effective they are, and how obvious it is to them. it's kind of like asking if it hurts when you get hit by a bus. anybody who has been hit by one knows, there is plenty of data out there about it, and it should be obvious to everyone else.

I use a Solo S3. Love it. Very convenient as I'm often in rental cars. It's the only cordless model worth considering. Here's a good site to check out tests of various detectors:

Police cruisers are the ONLY exception to this rule ( below link ) by which I live . Happens to be one of my top two or three favorite movie scene-lines of all time..

William, I apologize that you missed my tongue in cheek. As someone who has used radar detectors for almost forty years and with certainly ample evidence supporting their efficacy, I assumed it was more a rhetorical question than an actual question. My mistake.
