East Coast/Mid-Atlantic Owners to Albuquerque
#1

So, I'm at this bar and meet this trucker....

No, wait, true story. Here's the deal. I really do know this trucker. He's an independent guy who drives for Allied Van Lines. Most of his time is spent moving families coast to coast. He's moved plenty of cars in his day and has the necessary accessories to double stack. He calculates he could fit 6 cars in the trailer. I haven't worked out costs with him yet, but he's up for the task and the September time frame works out perfect as that is usually when things slow down for him and he takes a little break. It will be significantly cheaper than what normal shipping would be, but may not be "cheap", so I'm looking for "serious parties only" so I/We don't waste his time.

I just spoke with him a couple of days ago and we plan to get together within the next couple of weeks to discuss costs. He's willing to cut us a deal in exchange for picking up his expenses...it would be sort of like a working vacation for him.

How many people would be interested in going to Albuquerque but didn't want to drive? Of course, I would be one, so there's room for 5 more. Loading and departure would be from Sterling, VA right near Dulles airport. If you're in NC, VA, MD, PA, NJ, NY - and you know who you are - let me know. First come, first served.

Once all the details are finalized, I'll most likely get deposits to reserve your place. If there's little or no interest, at least I can say "I tried".

I would like to hear details on cost, driving up to VA is a lot better than driving to NM

Darryl, would you know a place near transport pick up in VA that I could leave a truck and 20ft. enclosed trailer? Just think about it I will cross that bridge if we can make transport work

Thanks
