I've been through this before, but I was wondering if anyone has installed nice speakers that fit the 2 spaces in the lower part of the door. I could use a name and model number. I'm not happy with my purchase, and they are actuall a liitle bi and press against the metal screen. They are driven by a new Alpine with the iPod adapter

You're not kidding about the holy grail quest. I did like having the smaller tweets/mids (depending who you're talking to), but not necessary. I will keep searching. I relly need to prove size spec, and let the retailer tell me what's available. Crutchfield doesn't even have the 968 listed. Thanks.
btw, this is mguthrie from 968net. Good to see familiar faces. Thanks, Eric.

Hey flash. I haven't asked about those yet. First time around I got some nice Rockford fosgates, and they didn't fit. My bad for not having accurate measurements before ordering. I've saved those for another vehicle. I was looking into blaupunckt, but kept running into walls with suppliers at the time (this was a while back), so I purchased some nice 5.25" coaxials, knowing I would move those to yet another vehicle, so now I'm looking for the holy grail. I still need to work out some install bugs, and than I'll have magic! I'll look into those when I have some free time. Thanks for the input. Anyone else, please chip in. Does anyone have the exact fiting specifications handy?

Josho -
Are you in the Sacramento area? I see this is your first post here, so welcome to the list!
I'll second your advice to inquire with Car Audio Innovation. Ask for Rod at
916-780-9450 or 1-800-892-6430
If anyone knows the answer, it will be him. No affiliation, just a satisfied customer. He installed my keyless entry that also works the hatch release on my coupe.
Good luck!

I also had an MB-75 in my cab, but it didn't like the rough ride. It's a fragil unit, and I have to get it fixed a second time. FYI - this unit sounds superb, but BUYER BEWARE. If you don'r purchasee it through one of the few truly authorized dealers, they do not provide any guarantee or warranty. You would think that is someone is allowed t sell it, they would be authorized. Go figure. I saved close to $200 on the unit, but have paid them more than that back for service and time involved.

So the rear speakers in our cars ARE 4x6 speakers? If so I can reuse my rears from my 993....I really wish my Focal 6.5" would fit in the damn fronts since I spent a mint on them...
Anyone have an easy way to get those door grills off to see what is in there?
