Last update.
Got car back today. Maybe a bad day because yesterday I was at the 911 Explore the Core VIP test drive of the new 911 and that is a hard act to follow. But,
After all the head work, engine seals, oil pan gasket, new belts, the RS total exhaust (headers plus cat plus cat back), RS Barn stage II chip and airbox mod the car pulls like a freight train. There must be 50-60 more horsepower and 40 more lb-ft torque than before. Acceleration in 6th gear is now just amazing. The car is also a lot smoother, maybe partly due to the chip and partly due to the extensive cleaning of the entire intake manifold area. For the first time I can hear the engine spinning up over the exhaust.
My only complaint is that the exhaust tip gets very hot and it has already scorched the paint on the rear valence where the cutout is for the muffler. I don't know if I can get the back of the muffler lowered or not. Has anyone else had this issue?
The test drive of the Porsche Doppelkupplung is amazing. These cars had the launch control and so you step on the brake, floor the throttle, wait for the little light, foot off the brake and out of the slingshot you go. 100 km/hr pops up 4.5 sec later. Might be an answer to a question that nobody was asking but it is a hoot nonetheless. If I had that car I would do it once for sure. However, when I got mine back back today I felt ready to take on on. Let the 911 hunting season begin.
Over and out on this one.
