I get the feeling that since these cars will never be seen as high-value collector cars, it won't make a difference to many (if not most) potential buyers if it was done at the factory or at the dealership. However, for the one or two very very obsessive collectors out there, perhaps.
For example, my car has a Porsche branded CD changer in the trunk. I don't really know if it was installed by the factory or the dealer, and to be honest, I don't really care. That's not why I bought the car (not to mention that I didn't have a whole lot of choices available). The factory speakers and head unit are long since gone, and that doesn't really bother me much either.
However, maybe if the previous owner or dealership even had changed the color of the car.... that might bother me more.
