I am looking to buy a 968 cabriolet and got a picture from the passenger footwell showing four holes in the carpet where a previous owner had installed a hands-free phone (old school style phone). The car is in pretty good shape, but I was hoping to get a guage on what would be involved, and what the cost would be, to repair the carpet or get new carpet.
Does anyone know what my options are here (assuming I buy the car) to either get the carpet repaired or replaced, and what the time/cost involved would be?
I have attached a picture of what I am talking about.
Thanks in advance for your help, and hoping to become a proud owner of a 968!
Car History:
1981 Audi 4000 4E (sold 1994)
1984 Porsche 944 (sold 1990)
1987 Audi 4000cs Quattro (sold 2000)
1994 VW Corrado VR6 (sold 2004)
2001 Audi S4 Avant (bought 2004)
2006 Honda Odyssey (bought 2005... three kids to haul...what can I say)
1995 968 Cabriolet (bought 2007)

[quote name='bob blackwell' post='31527' date='Feb 25 2007, 10:48 AM']That doesn't look too bad, you could even cover the damage up with a cup holder or something. It could be repaired by an upholstery shop, or you could buy a used carpet replacement piece from a salvage yard and just replace it yourself. Cost will vary widely depending on what you end up doing. But check with the following to see if they have the carpet available:

Thanks.
Any idea of the cost? I am in negotiations for the car, so any cost estimate would be helpful.
My goal with this car is to have it look at original as possible, so I would opt for a repair instead of putting something over it.
