Cafax needed
#1

Don't it figure, I get a Carfax subscription when I'm looking for another P car and right after it runs out I find a car and buy it. Anyone have a current unlimited Carfax subscription and wouldn't mind running this vin for me? Already have the car, just interested in the mileage history.

Thanks,

Other than the fact it violates carfax's policy I don't know why anyone would be concerned about running a carfax for someone. It's not like it gives you the address of the car or that it is even accurate on accident history.

First off, I own the car, so no liablity to anyone but me. The car was sold to me with 22,XXX and I don't believe the mileage and bought the non-running car solely on condition and I'm just curious. I don't want to buy another subscription for one car.

Also, I've been on both ends of this deal, running CarFax for people on this list and others. I couldn't care less about how Carfax views this and would only be concerned if the list administrator had a problem with it and I'm certain he doesn't.

Finally, I will do as Joe suggests and post a request on Rennlist. Thanks for the suggestion Joe.

I'm on your side. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> and if I still had an account I'd be glad to run it for you. My response was to the post above mine.

Don't post on Rennlist!

It will be deleted. John D. specifically forbids such requests. This has nothing to do with privacy of previous owners, but with violation of Carfax's franchise. I don't necessarily agree, not sure the harm, but you have to respect the Rennlist rule.

You can buy it for a one time use. Im thinking its about $15.00 but as you already have the car, I bet your patience will reward you with someone willing to run it for you.

If you dont mind the hassle go over to one of the rice boards and request it. I've gotten 3 from there in the past in about 2 days time. http://www.mr2oc.com
