"There was also a new range of colours which suggested a return to some of the wild options last seen in the early 80s. Finally Porsche was seen to be trying to shake off the Guards Red image which had taken over the model. Meanwhile, for 1993, concern for the environment took a step forward when water-based paints were used for some of the solid colours."

Hmmm, any blue, especially maritime, cobalt, midnight. Aventurine green, amazon green, GP white, and any silver. Those would be my favs. I almost scored a maritime blue manual coupe, here in AZ, for I think it was 6k. I think the guy talked to Jeff, and found out his car was a rare color(i think it was a 93, or 92). The ad was listed for a couple months, and the price kept dropping, and honesly I was waitin it out, to see how much it would drop. Well, one day all of a sudden the price doubles I think to like 12k. The ad description was changed, and said only one was made or something that year, price firm. It sold it seemed immediately. I ended up with the GP white one for 8. Well kept, second owner. 120k. Not my first choice, but it was local, and a manual coupe is kinda tough to find without willingness to travel long distance. I like White. I bought it with the intent to turbo it. GP white was an original turbo s color. Not sure how many were white, but at least one. Figured it made sense, since I was doing a replica.

Without wanting to offend anyone, Guards red is just a bit common for me (even though I secretly like it)

My 3.0 951 is india red. Didnt want a 968 in red too. Guards red is a great color. It is very common tho.

Yes its rare to see any 968, let alone a red one, but there are a lot of other Guards red Porsches, 944s and 3.2s for example.
