Sizes:



Front = 8x18 offset is 42

Rear = 9.5x18 offset is 47



I'm thinking not... but have to ask anyway.

Your wheel calculator shows the change from a given wheel to another wheel. It doesn't indicate if the wheels in question will fit. I can see that I am either closer to or farther from the strut and fender depending on entered data, but without knowing what stock clearances / measurements are to begin with, the results are basically useless. If I knew I was, say, 15mm from the strut and 15mm from the fender with stock 17's (or 16's), then the results generated by your formula would mean something...



What is needed is a chart showing the acceptable offset range for any given wheel dimension, or a baseline reference in your calculator showing the clearances of the original wheels/tires.



Guess I will have to figure something out along those lines.

to determine that, you start with what you have, with you taking physical measurements to given areas - then you use the calculator to see the change given a new size - then you have a good idea if they will fit or not, but if it's close, you really have to fit them, and then put the suspension through its full loaded range of travel to know for sure



there is and really can be no chart to show what you want, as the tire is the ultimate determining factor, and all tires vary, even in the same size, and suspension geometry and ride height also play a large role when you get to the edge of the envelope



you have to measure your setup on your car, and then use the calculator to see how close you get

Gotcha.



I believe they would be OK with regards to the struts, but, I think they will stick out from under the fender too far. With my current set up, I am about 8-10mm inside the fender in the front, and about 10-12mm inside the fender on the rear. The 18's I'm looking at stick out (past the 17's) way more than that.



Will take physical measurements again to be sure.

Yo biotechee - I have 8.5 X 18 / 47 on the front and considering your 9.5 width I think that will be a cake walk. Yeah, we're talking 5 MM different et (2/10s of an inch) more outward but your wheel is 12.7 MM more narrow (6.35 MM per side) so it's a wash. I have 10 X 18 / 62 on the rear and I think your 47 is sure to rub unless you have some seriously stretched rubber and/or significant negative camber. I could get by with sub 60 et; under 50 is gonna get real close but with camber might fly. Do pay attention to flash's comment about suspension travel. I like this tire/wheel calculator. It gives speedo changes, gear ratio changes, it does everything but tighten the lugs.

Sorry, where I said "considering your 9.5 width" I meant to say 8.0



Obviously you are .5 inch more narrow front and rear compared to me but still be careful on that rear. 47 et with 9.5 has a better chance of fitting than if my 10s were 47. See what the calculator says using my specs compared to what you are targeting. My car is 8.5 x 18 et 47 wearing 225 40 18 and 10 x 18 et 62 wearing 265 35 18. If your rear tire / wheel outward movement is very little compared to mine you might pulll it off

Thanks for the info. I am 100% confident, unfortunately, the rears won't fit based on your and Bob's info. A little bummed because the wheels were ones that I really think would look good. I think there are other offsets, but they are probably rarer than hen's teeth...

they will be close



my 18x10 has a 52 offset - you would gain 12mm by going to a 9.5, but lose 5 by going to 47 - i have 1.7 degrees negative camber though, which gains a couple of millimeters, but i am lowered which costs some - i have stiffer springs and shocks set to work with those, so some of that is mitigated



like i said, they will be close - it will probably come down to the tire choice - if you ran a 265/35-18 instead of a 285/30 you would gain some room, and also gain some sidewall cushion





i would try fitting them

It's too much of a risk- I'd potentially end up with a set of wheels that doesn't fit, then be forced to sell them. Another previously unmentioned aspect was the wheels are currently not all the same color. Two are painted black, three (!!) are standard silver. So, I'd have to invest to get them all one color. Not worth it if I know they don't fit "right out of the box".



And, I'm not a suspension guy so I don't want to do any unnecessary fiddling with the suspension just to get a look...



Luckily, my second favorite set of 18"ers does fit. Just need to keep looking for a reasonable price.



If they were guaranteed to fit, then I'd be all over them. Just not the case.
