Another in-car video
#1

Hi,

here is another in-car video from me. It was made last year on the brand new tiny but nice "Spreewaldring" race track near Berlin/Germany. Funny scenes when I was chasing that blue 911 cabrio...

Have fun!

Nice vid. Thanx 4 sharing.

You were the black sheep until that vette came on the scene. As you entered the track it looked more like a 911 parade!

Was that blue 911 holding you back on some of those corners? It appeared that he was pushing it pretty hard as he came out of a few a bit shakey. I would assume the 68CS would dominate in the corners unless the 911 is driven by a pro.

Yes, that vette was a bit too fast for me... but it has more than double the HP, so it's nothing to be ashamed of...

And yes, you are absolutely right! The blue 911 was driven by the organizer of the event, a pro with many years of race track and rallye experience. He drove one of the attendees' cars... It took me a while until I realized who is driving... In the previous turn, it was a easy thing for me to overtake...

Is that a small race track or a large go-kart track?

Do you have ABS? I thought I was hearing brake lockup.

The go-kart track is vis-à-vis... Have a look at that aerial view at http://www.stc-motodrom.de/ ....

Indeed, it's the smallest race track I've ever been on. Anyway, it's length is about 2.7km...

Yes, I have ABS, and usually it works. The asphalt surface was relatively slippery and the tyres are making all sorts of whining noises, not only on cornering, but even when braking with ABS...

2.7Km? Wow, that's almost as small as Mission Raceway (http://www.sccbc.net/), but looks much more exciting

Yeah, I watched that video, great stuff! You were really giving that 911 a run for its money. I find it funny how the 968 just seems like such a young nimble pup, compared to the old lumbering 911s.

BTW, what is that noise I'm hearing when you take a left hand turn. Sounds like a ball joint is about to pop out or something

Yes, that noise is only there on forced left cornering. I'm unsure where it's coming from. To me it sounds like a tyre is rubbing against the chassis...

BTW, that racetrack was built within 9 weeks in summer 2007 in the open countryside... That was really impressing to me.
