Hello everybody.

After my interior was redone, the airbag light has been coming on.
It goes off after the car starts, but comes on about 2 seconds later and stays on. never been in an accident or airbags deployed.
The Porsche dealership says that I need a new "brain" and will install it for me for a measly $3000!!

Does anyone know how to "reset" it or to get it to turn off?
Iv also heard of some places which I could send in my control untit to and have it reset. any suggestions?

pretty much every dealer has a bosch hammer to reset it - price varies from free to $75 to have it done

however, this will not correct the problem if you have a bad impact sensor, a bad connection at the steering wheel, or a bad connection at the bag, or a faulty bag

even if you needed a new DME, install takes 15 minutes, and is easy to do

I can't see the DME being at fault.....especially if the car operates. Even by some small chance it was, I'd pull the bulb before I would ever replace the DME. Just call around and see who can reset it. (btw, I've been quoted $120 before which had me cursing all the way to the car).
