Aftermarke Wing for 968 Cab.
#1

I was checking out the 968 links for this site, and noticed that American International Racing now has a wing for the 968 Convertable in the new products section:

968 Cab Wing

The pictures have the wing attached to a 944, but it seems designed to look like the adjustable wing from a 968 Turbo.

There are center brake-lights on the wing, so you could remove the brake-light fixture from the trunk.

Maybe someone with some Photoshop experience can help my imagination and put this wing on a 968 for me so I can tell if I like it or not.

What do you all think of it?

I am going with rice. I do not want a Supra spoiler on my 968.

On a cab Rice... on a Coupe Nice...

Try these guys this is the same design as the Techart which the Porsche Dealers sold. I Still think you may be able to locate one.

Just like the cab guys to want the features that a coupe has - rear wing, rigid chassis, light weight, etc. Next thing you guys will want is a hardtop!

this is slightly off topic, but...

do any of the cab guys know of or have a removable luggage rack that you could mount on the trunk lid? i'm totally in agreement that the lines of the car are clean and beautiful, but if i were to go on a long road trip with the misses, it would be nice to have more capacity for stuff.

misses? plural? wow - lucky guy - how do you get more than one girl in the cab though? that's creating one heck of a visual

seriously though - this is also something i miss having - i had a screwed down one on my mgb and loved it - fortunately, this car has a bit more room - a removeable rack though would probably scratch the paint pretty badly - i've not seen any forms of luggage racks for this car

i've learned to pack light - i can get 2 sets of golf clubs and a couple of pieces of luggage in there with no real issue - that's good for about a week - longer than that though and it's going to be a problem for sure

Sign me up with the Fugly team. I think it looks like it came off of a Toyota MR2. Didn't look good there either.

flash, thanks for the response. doesn't sound like there's a ton of interest in this rack. i was hoping that with a little padding that there would be a way to mount one on the edges of the trunk lid. might look cool, too. i've seen some original model mustangs from the 60's with chrome racks on the trunks and they looked really classy.

as far as the misses goes, you california guys could probably fit three of those skinny beach girls in the back of your 968. the midwestern girls out here hardly fit in the front seat!!!!

i'll just have to keep looking, or buy a welder and make my own!!!

Luckily I have no interest in golf. So between the trunk and the space behind the seats there was plenty room for the luggage my wife and I needed for a week long road trip from Austin to New Orleans.

On 968.net there are picks of a trailer hitch for a 968 to pull a small trailer...

hmmm - ssomehow that just seems wrong - i can just see dragging a uhaul or a tin guppy - definitely not the image i would normally conjure of one of these cars

heck, i just figured out how to drag the 968 on those kinds of trips, not the other way around

kind of funny thinking about it though

well, not quite, but we just set the grand cherokee up to drag the trailer with the 968 on it- it was a 98 5.2l V8 and could handle the load already, and already had the group 4 tow package, but we installed eibach progressive 1" lowering springs, bilstein low pressure gas shocks, and 17 x 8 rims with 275/55/17 bridgestone dueler 680 tires, along with the k&n intake kit - handles like dream and goes like a bat - now we're ready
