Which brand for water pump replacement?
#41

Sorry, I should have clammed up about Rock Auto.

Paragon seems to have all the brands for the timing belts on their website - maybe give them a call?

Quote:Curious, I have only dealt with them once and it was a pretty simple transaction. I ordered the part, it arrived, I installed it.

I think it's important to remember that they don't make the parts, they only ship them. If a part is bad, it's not their fault. If the return is messed up and takes forever, then that is their fault.

Any advice on belts? I have not found a local supplier for the Gates belts that we all believe are the ones to use. Napa is no longer able to order the Gates cam belt. They can get the balance shaft one, but the only option they have is the Conti unit for the cam.

I got mine not too long ago from AutohausAZ. https://www.autohausaz.com/ they have both the regular, as well the high performance Gates belts .

Quote:Scottsdale said they were getting it shipped to them from Atlanta distribution and charging $277 for Geba pump.

So $50 more than most retailers.

G'day Snuf, shame about the rugby but I wore my ABs shirt for the final too. I live in Southern France, after 20 years in Coatesville, so rugby union is a hot topic. Talking of hot topics ..... my local Porsche Centre kept me waiting about a month before declaring the didn't have a water pump in stock and no chance of back order ... shrug of shoulders ....

I wasn't aware of rebuilds for such an item, and they didn't help me with that info either, so I ordered a Geba from PelicanParts ... US$380 + shipping.

All fitted fine but it's only been in for about three months so I can't vouch for longevity, however, so far there's no leaks, the temp is as should be, and it is quiet.

In the end you have to work with what you can get hold of. Good luck.

I bought and installed in may this year a Geba waterpump which i bought from the bay for €240,00 including gaskets, shipping etc.

6 months in now and 1800 KM's, and still going strong (for a very long time i hope).
