'94 6speed is stalling out while driving - weird

Anyone got any ideas on this? I'll be driving along, part load, just crusing, and it just stalls. Like no gas or no spark. I pull over, turn car off then back on and it will start right up...



At first I though DME relay but then someone told me they don't gradually go out, they just go...



could it be a bad fuel filter?

Actually, my DME relay went gradually. I replaced it and have had no more stalling issues. I too thought it was the fuel filter or pump. I would recommend getting a new one, replacing it and seeing what happens. If anything you will have a spare relay in case your current one is fine. If it starts happening more and more frequently, it's the DME <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Ditto with my DME relay. It slowly died.

It should be at the end of the engine bay, on the driver side. Look at the diagram on the lid it will tell you which relay you need to replace.

Look on the driver side under the hood back by the cowl (opposite from the battery on the passenger side). Remove the top from the Fuse Box by unclipping the retaining wires and look at the list inside to find the DME. It is a simple pull to remove and push to install. Good luck, Bob Blackwell.

Good job Mike, now get an extra DME Relay and carry it with you just in case it fails again. It sure is handy to have one on hand when the car stops! Good luck, Bob Blackwell.
