As of today, the owners interested in driving their 968s in a 968 Caravan from the Holiday Inn Grantville, PA to the Swap Meet on Sat. April 25th are:

1. redbaron

2. silvercab

3. anchorman

4. direwolf

5. cosimo

6 - 40 ????????? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/unsure.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

As indicated previously in this thread, the cutoff for me to organize a 40 car 968 Gathering (which could include discount rooms and perhaps a Friday night buffet and, of course, the fantastic 40 car 968 Caravan) at the Holiday Inn is February 1st. *********

If you want this event to happen again, post your name on the list. If not enough owners sign up, you will find me at the Concours area at the Swap Meet on Saturday, April 25th with my red Coupe.

Photo below is from last year's 968 Gathering with Anchorman posing for the camera. Handsome guy!

Hi all, just bought a 968 a few months ago. My second Porsche (first was a 924) I live 10 mins from Grantville and Hershey. I'm interested in the gathering at the swap meet and possibly the caravan if there is enough interest.

I plan to be there as well and will participate in any related 968 events...Caravan, group parking, etc. We will probably come up Friday night, so if there is a hotel opportunity, please post info.

There could be either a 968 GATHERING or a 968 GET TO GETHER during the Swap Meet in Hershey:

968 GATHERING (2 day event) **CUTOFF FEB 1**

option 1: Minimum 40 owners need a hotel room Friday night at the Holiday Inn in Grantville, PA. I will sign hotel contract for 40 rooms plus discount rate plus reserve dining room area (like last year, with everyone ordering off the menu) for a 968 Dinner (6PM). Owners assemble outside of the Hotel Saturday morning (before 7am) and we Caravan to the Swap Meet with the lead car paying for all cars ($5 each car). You must decide whether you want to park in the Concours area ($10 entrance, possible to win an award) or the 968 Parking area with all of the 968s together. Lunch at the Swap Meet, pick up those rare parts early! It is possible, for those interested, that we may Caravan that afternoon to my home for another Tech Session, this year a DVD on "Maintaining the 968" from the PCA Tech Committee Chairman, Tom Charlesworth. THIS OPTION REQUIRES THAT I MUST KNOW THE 40 OWNERS NAMES WHO NEED A ROOM FRIDAY NIGHT, APRIL 24 SO THAT I CAN SIGN A HOTEL CONTRACT BY FEB 1 TO GET THE DISCOUNT RATE.

968 GET TO GETHER (1 day) CUTOFF APRIL 1option 1: Everyone gets their own hotel reservation and drives their 968 Coupe or Cabriolet to arrive at the Holiday Inn in Grantville, PA, prior to 6:45 am for departure at 7am for the Swap Meet (Gates open at 7:30 am). Parking at either the Concours or a 968 Parking area. You will need to let me know so that I can let PCA Central PA Region know how many spaces we need for the Concours and 968 Parking areas.

option 2: We meet at the Swap Meet with parking either in the Concours or General Parking. You can find me at the Concours parking area, I will provide my cell phone number closer to the event. Could still do the DVD Tech Session at my home, if there is interest.

I apologize to Cosimo (who has attended every 968 Celebration/Gathering since 2001) for repeating the above info but each year we get new owners who have not attended a 968 event prior.

So, if you want the 2 day 968 Gathering email me at dhassenbein@comcast.net with your hotel requirements (which nights, smoking, non smoking, handicapped, etc). If you prefer the 1 day 968 GET TO GETHER, let me know whether you will be able to meet us at the Holiday Inn Sat morning, with your 968, at the Holiday Inn (Option 1) or meet us at the Swap Meet (Option 2)

If you need further info on the 968 Celebrations/Gatherings/GTGs check out www.968register.org

There are photos and info from all events back to 2001.

OK, I guess I'll throw my name in here.

This year I'll be there early Friday. I always seem to miss the hoopla. Even though the shop always seems to be busy just before Hershey, I'll make it happen this year.

Maybe I can bring the Bosch Hammer and do diagnostics for 968'rs

New status of people needing hotel room Friday Night April 24

1. Redbaron

2. DireWolf

3. Anchorman

4. Cosimo

5. RS Barn

6-40 ???

We have 17 days left to get 35 other 968 owners who are bringing their 968 and need an excellent room at a discount price. Will be make it or will, as often in the past, people will procrastinate until Feb 2 when discount rooms and a reserved room for Friday night will no longer be available

Anybody out there going to be number 6?

Don, let's go back to "968 Celebration", as it appears this would be the only Get Together of 968s. Also you forgot Darryl and Christine. How about a car decal? I have room for one more. I can do that part.
