Woudn't start!
#1

so leaving school this afternoon car woudn't start. it was 40 degrees out, raining. im also running 20W-50 oil. engine turned over and turned over. nothing... i was turning it over in like 10s intervals with a few seconds between each. finally battery started dying so i stopped. i txtd a few friends to see if anyone had jumper cables. while waiting for a response i tried one more time. car tried to start, then i tried again and it started. some other stuff, after it started oil light came on and oil presure was at 5. this was all at idle. after maybe ten minutes of driving, looked like oil pressure dropped a little so i pushed in the clutch to see if it would drop down to idle pressure and sure enough it did. havnt had any problems since. any ideas as to why it wasnt starting earier??

first item to check would be the DME relay, IMO ( $ 20 item )

prior to the battery starting to give out, was it cranking fast/normal or slower than normal? Could be starter related. My other thought would be moisture getting in somewhere or something related to the weather...it's rained almost non-stop here for almost three days now. Does your car sit outside? My 944 did something very similar and I had water finding it's way in behind the glove box and it saturated the wiring harness at the computer...took it apart, let it dry out and away I went.
