I am about to go home and crawl under my car and replace the starter with the Bosch remanufactured one that came in from Pelican. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif[/img]
(... I just wish I had a hoist to do the work on... )
The package also had a couple of K&N oil filters (I like the "nut" on top!) and an air filter, which I will also replace.
I also ordered all the side cladding rubber trim, door handle gaskets and mirror gaskets, which will be done at a later date. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif[/img]
Looking forward to tomorrow mornings "Breakfast Run" with the local PCA "boys & girls"! [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif[/img]

I am about to go home and crawl under my car and replace the starter with the Bosch remanufactured one that came in from Pelican.

Take a good look at the cables attached to the starter. You might even want to peel back the casing to check the condition of the insulation. Several of us have had the insulation wear off, causing interesting phenomena such as "the self-starting Porsche syndrome." After my bought with this affliction, I peeled the casing way back, wrapped the wires thoroughly with electrical tape, and fastened the ends of the tape with tie wraps. Eventually, I'd like to get a set of Higher Connection cables, but this should hold me for now.

Let us know how this goes. I bet most of our cars are in need of this, so I'm sure many of us are interested in how difficult this project is, and how long it takes.

Cloud9..68 - thanks for the tip. I did not get around to replacing the starter yesterday because when I got home the wife had other plans for our Friday evening.[img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif[/img]
So when I get around to it later today, I will have a closer look at the condition of the wire insulation. [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif[/img]

- SS brake lines
- New master\slave clutch clyinders
- SS clutch hose
- Regular maintance (oil change, brake fluid flush, etc)
- Rear wiper delete


On the way\In progress:
- Elephant Racing castor blocks and a-arm bushings
- Design 1 lower strut brace
- Design 1 coupe chassis brace
- Fix oil leak
- IceShark battery cables

And I'm contemplating picking up a set of Sparco Evo seats that I came across the other day...

I'ld like to make up a SS grill to replace my plastic one even though the plastic mesh is still in great shape. I believe Flash was going to post a DIY on removing the front facia in under 20 minutes a while back? I don't want to blindly removing screws and prying. If he does this I would be very greatful to have yet another weekend project!
