Wheels: Is there a difference?
#1

Folks,

I've been told that BBS makes their race wheels to a different spec than their street wheels.

Can somebody educate me on this? I've never heard this before.

Thanks,

Jason

not sure about BBS, but other companies do - generally the center is thinner and lighter - it is also therefore not as strong as the street wheel

side note, a lot of spec organizations are now moving to the long standing 2 year requirement to avoid failures of the weaker wheels after use and aging - wheels can only be a maximum of 2 years old under that spec - i don't think this will apply to production class racing though
