Wheels fresh from the powdercoater...
#1

Porsche season is almost upon us up here in Maine. I'll post more photos once I get the tires mounted and the wheels back on the car. Love it or hate it. The color is called Tranquil Copper. Photos don't do justice. The metal flake looks great in the sun.

That looks fantastic! Who did the powdercoating?!

Would love to see them in person if you're up for it, I have a sister in Kennebunkport and one in Sanford, and I'll be passing through on my way to Machias (DownEast) to visit with the rest of the family around Father's Day. It's always worth a pilgrimage to Cabela's and there's a good pizza place right there, I'll buy the <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/beer.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />.

I still have a thing for Guards Red. I hope to acquire the Cup II's eventually and get them painted GR. I like the look. Keep these as track day wheels. Here's the guys (Paul & Dave) who did the powder coating... http://www.968forums.com/topic/10835-rep...ntry107312

I work at Portland Volvo - Portland Saab about 5 minutes from Cabelas. I should have the car on the road by then. Still piecing together the interior and doing a bit of rear brake work. Always up for a beer. I also have a camp up in Machias. On Gardner Lake. Small world.

I agree on the "Arrest-Me Red", my first two Porsche's were Guards Red, and I might just have to go the same color for my third... Not to everyone's taste though. How is the copper going to look against the red car - did you have a sample to eyeball it before you committed?

I used to swim at "the dam" all summer (Chase's Mills on Gardner's Lake). Family up there all still lives in East Machias and Whiting (Holmes Bay/Cutler side of town). Dad was a lobster fisherman for 40 years - put myself through college digging clams and raking blueberries.
