I have a coolant leak but can't find it...
#1

Put a pressure tester on the system, pump to 21psi, holds pressure fine. Look around and can't find a leak or even a wet spot anyware, everything seems fine.

Go out for a drive and drive her hard for 30 minutes, come back in and the coolant level is down about 2 inches.

Fill it up, test it again, no leaks. Go back out for a drive, come back, down almost 2 inches again.

I'm about to make this thing into a go-kart! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Anyone have any suggestions on where on earth the coolant could be leaking...but how can it be leaking when the pressure tester doesn't budge???????

If there are no obvious drips on the ground and your interior carpet is also dry, then it must be going past the head gasket. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Quick check is the dipstick, if it looks milk chocolate brown you have big problems. Don't run it, the coolant is getting into your crankcase polluting the oil. If it's only going into the combustion chamber you're better off but not by much, probably a head gasket and hopefully not a cyl. head fault.
