30 Days To Parade Registration
#1

Make sure you mark it on your calendar...

Registration for Porsche Parade 2009 (June 29 - July 4) opens on March 3rd.

This year's Parade will be at Keystone Resort, in the mountains of Colorado. Plus, if we get enough interest, I plan on running a 968 Gathering during Parade (tentatively on June 30th, following the Concours). Let me know if you are interested in that.

All the details are at http://www.porscheparade2009.com/default.aspx. Where else can you see 1000 or so Porsches, PCNA and PAG executives, and even the Porsche family, all in a beautiful mountain setting?

You drivin Bob? Looks like a mighty lonely road through Utah. PCA event right? I think the wife might dig CO in July.

And, perfect excuse to 1) get the nav put in 2) get the brakes done, and 3) anything else I think I can get away with (no, seriously hon, you need a roll bar, Recaros, 5 point harnesses, RS Stage 1, etc etc, to head into CO - the car just won't run without that stuff in the thin air...)

Count us in Chris, a 968 gathering will be great. We have about 12 968 Register Tote Bags left from Escape which we will donate for your use as door prizes or whatever you want. They don't have any other marking on them besides the 968 Register Logo on one side. Bob & Patti Blackwell.

That's terrific, Bob, and very much appreciated.

And, let's see if the other Bob can get a group from SoCal heading to Colorado! The drive through Utah isn't bad at all. If you want to break it up a bit, I highly recommend a stop in Moab. Also, if you have the time and are not dragging a trailer (sorry, Bob), the drive through Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef (as well as the drives to get to both of these NPs) is amazing.

Great tips Chris. I really want to get the car more fully sorted out and put a long run in. I have not seen Moab or Bryce, so this would make a good hard target date. I'll be able to commit once I get a couple of other pedestrian things out of the way here in SoCal.

i do indeed plan to see if i can get a group from here going - it would make for a much more fun drive

another tip - utah roads SUCK - the last time i was through there half the state's roads were under construction - i picked up over 30 chips in my brand new paint job from the crap on those roads, and my car was up on a trailer - that's exactly why we had the enclosed trailer made

i highly recommend a bra, and even some blue masking tape on the more exposed areas of the car's paint
