Porsche Parade Pitstop
#1

Voted the county's friendliest city by Travel and Leisure Magazine and rated 2nd behind San Francisco as the top destination in the US by Conde Nast Traveler magazine, CHARLESTON, SC http://www.charlestoncvb.com/will be "on the way" for most of you if you are headed to Savannah for Porsche Parade this Summer. If you are headed to Savannah down I-95, Charleston is a one hour trip down I-26. From Charleston to Savannah is 2.5 hours down Hwy 17. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s...24854&z=10 The excursion to Charleston will add only one hour of driving time to your trip. Join us either Friday evening or Saturday morning. Enjoy touring the Yorktown, visit the famous Rainbow Row, take a carriage ride, and see where the War of Northern Aggression began.

So here is the "offer", bring your 968 to Charleston the weekend prior to the Parade. A few local 968 enthusiasts are willing to arrange a 968 gathering and lunch at Patriot's Point http://www.patriotspoint.org/exhibits/yorktown/ as well as a group rate at a local hotel and meals as interest warrants. Hudson's Import Service http://hudsonsimport.com/ has offered to provide the facilities for 968 attendees to clean up their cars etc. We already expect that the local 968 owners and several from Savannah will be there as well as others from the Carolinas.

Charleston is a fantastic destination to visit and was the port of entry for your 968! (even Minty) So think about bringing your car "home" for a day and join us in Charleston.

Please PM me for any details. Thanks!

Sounds like a great offer.I am going to the Parade leaving from Wash DC area but I am planning a stop in Lumberton, NC to break up the drive (wife doesn't drivce the 968). I just spent 4 days in Charleston 2 weeks ago. It is a very charming city and has some great food. We stayed at the Vendue Inn. Drove the Audi. Can't say the drive was thrilling as I-95 is a very boring drive. Set the cruise control on 80 and keep the wheel straight. I am planninhg on the get together on Monday night.
