Great Video. I'd like to see the video from inside the CGT when the 968T passes him.

That is a FAST 968! Who's car is that? Specs?

I think it is 3.0 8V Turbo.

Wow! that was pretty incredible! Now if only the driver hadn't mounted the camera right in the middle of the car. Was it just me or did that rearview mirror look exceptionally large?

The GT driver probably never took the car above 3000 rpm in that contest <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

yeah, not sure why the guy (girl ?) would take their GT out to the track and not really push it.. I get the fact that you don't want to trash a half million dollar vehicle , or may be that's your first time on the track with that car and not too confident if you can control it, but come on, that was on a straightaway so it's not as you're outskilled by a far better driver in turns and what not.. ! as fast as the 968 turbo may be, I imagine that when you floor the pedal of that 600hp puppy you can be towing a 747 and still dust the 68t.. sigh..

so I'm definitely with you guys on this : what the.. how... why... it's a mystery ! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

From reading the Rennlist forums, The CGT driver wasn't going all out, was on street tires, and usually had passengers because everyone wanted to ride along and experience the ride <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Regardless, that's a fast 968 <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ohmy.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />!

It's unlikely, but not impossible, that a turbo 3.0L 8v could make 600hp, but a worked 16v can. Having said that Special Tool has just posted over 600whp from his 2.5L 951 8v so anything's possible.

ah, unless the red camera car is also something 'amazing' I think that video shows a CGT being driven slowly....it really is still well in frame at the end of the shot. ie: I dont back all the ooohh ahhs about how fast that 968T therefore is....sorry to be the downer! Would like to get my 968 to be CGT quick though!
