variocam chain

Hey guys, where do I get the upgeaded version of the variocam chain? My car is at 80k, what else should I look into replacing/checking?

You can get the updated chain through Pelican Parts. If you know about the chain, obviously you know to change the pads. Check for any missing teeth on the Cams or excessive wear while you're in there.



When you pull the valve cover off, you should replace the valve cover seal, and all the bolt seals at the same time. Also, to replace the chain, you're going to have to remove the belts to remove the cams, so might as well replace them also. If the cam tensioner is weeping, or if you just want to play it safe, replace it also. When were the rollers last replaced? Water pump?



How is the compression on the motor? Is it time to do some top end work (3 angled grind) while you have the cams out? These are all questions you have to ask yourself to help you figure out how far you need to go. Good luck.

thanks rustech, what are you refering to when you mention the rollers I dont know what that part is/does... is there a link to the chains on pelican, i didnt see it anywhere
