vario chain links color

got the new variocam chain - two of the links are blue . any significance to that ?

I have a chain from Germany that has no master link.....supposed to be heavy duty...guess you haev to install everything at once

so if they are master liks .. what are "master links" ? and if they're not, any guesses as to the relevance of the diff color ?

master links are the links you break to disassemble a chain - they are designed to have a pin pushed out to break it loose - i have a tool for just that purpose - not sure these are master links, but typically they are indeed blue

The two links are coloured just to ease the installation of the camshafts, they should lineup with marks on the inlet and exhaust cams.
To my knowledge there is not any "master links" in the variocam chain.

erk is right, there is seven links between the marks on the cam.

Thats pretty cool my new chain had no marks.
