A few good points to discuss on this car. 1, would be the 993 headlight conversion. Noticed it as soon as I opened the page. -30 lbs and the custom fit isn't bad. But I wouldn't call it perfect.
Then theres the LS1. Hard to imagine a full running conversion going for so little. BIN Price is under 20K
If this was in my next of the woods I'd be going for a test drive this Saturday.

But does a V8 conversion really make any since for a 968? I guess the most popular V8 conversion is the 80-90s jaguars. I've seen many of them and I think the tranny is already a GM piece. But another reason for it is the nightmare of having one of those Jag V12s. I hear they are a nightmare to own and maintain, hense the many conversions. But why a 968. Wouldn't you say the 3.0 is a great powerplant? So why pull it?

I have the Excellence article the Ebay ad referenced. Disappointingly, it also failed to list performance numbers! It praised the car, the idea, the install and even commented on why it made sense. Yet it left us with little by way of the facts.
I know we have at least one V8 on this forum. Perhaps he can chime in w/ his thoughts.
update - the car belongs to badberry68 (a member here) - i am curious as to why he is selling it - he has been a staunch proponent of the conversion - with that much wrapped up into the process, it strikes me as odd to be selling it
Yes, I've read many of his posts and he seemed to love the conversion. He was actually who I was referring to when I said we have at least one LS1 owner here.
Hope the sale goes well. The new owner will probably be a future member here.

Or a current one! I would be interested if I had the funds. Then again, it's hard to get mine back from my mom when she borrows it. Maybe I'll sell it to her and take a look at badberry's.
