UNIQUE 968 wanted
#1

Looking for low mileage, auto . coupe. I am looking for a special color exterior, I see many in Europe and Japan, need not be concoure, but would like maintenance records. Would love one owner but that is hard to find. Will travel to see but prefer northeast.

Do you mean that you want a Tiptronic Auto Trans in this car?

If you want a low mileage, one or two owner 968, what are you willing to pay?

There are a fair number of 50 to 100K cars for reasonable prices...

If you want less than 50K, the price goes up immediately, as it should!

Specific colors? Amazon green... Mint Green... Aubergine... ???

Unique color cars in great shape and low mileage are going to be tough, way too rare and thus not so sure their owners are inclined to sell them for anything even close to typical market price..but I could be wrong, and you might luck out..

If you have something specific in mind post it and I'll check the registry and let you know if it was built. There was a pretty cool, rare. cobalt blue coupe with a tiptronic on eBay last week, 1 of 31 and cobalt is a great color.

Picked it up in the airport. Let me look at it tomorrow, it's at the office now, and I will give you specifics. It's chock full of everything.

Might take a while to find the one you are looking for, but these rare birds do pop up. Be ready with your phone and a topped up paypal account so that you can jump when you find what you are looking for.

They had two pinks, one solid and one metallic but since you are talking 92s that would have to be the solid, called Rubystone red. Pretty rare here in the US, two coupes and only one cab.

Don't forget about the custom one that was for sale several times in the past couple of years. I think it was Magenta/Purple Interior and exterior with custom doors and some other mods. Not my cup of tea, but it damn sure would pass the "unique" test!

LOL,LOL<Yes I know just the car u mean it started out here on the east coast a few years ago. It is a beauty and I like it but to far to check out now that it is in Calif. I know it has alot of custom work and it looks great on the computer. If it makes it back to east coast I am going to look at it I really hate the doors though. I like regular doos that open out.

thanks Jeff, I knew it was rare when I saw it and I just loved it BUT it was in Japan and when I talked to the saleman he said he could not ship to USA. I have since found out that it is possible to import from Japan <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/whine.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/ninja.gif" class="smilie" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/drama.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Tell me more. We had a guy here on the east coast who imported an amazon green CS from germany many years ago. Cool car, no sunroof, roll up windows, but he spent over $10K just getting it into the US.

Are you talking about those new exhibition rules?

I don't know about exhibition rules? What r they? It was the Euro Specs that caused my problem with import to US. The cost I was given was $1800.00 to deliver to port in LA from Japan. I was good with that.

But could you register the car and drive it on the road? i heard there are new laws which have allowed 959s in the US and are drivable. I seem to recall it was an exhibition law.

I am not sure I was told they could confiscate the car att he dock andnot let it in the country that is when I decided I had to forget it as I could not deal with the people taking the car away after all the expense. I have talked to people since who said u can bring it in as a show car and then register it after a year?? An other person said I could have it sent to Ohio and then they could fix the title and bring it to NY?? This just was to complicated for me.
