Wanted: 968 Manual Coupe
#1

Looking for a manual coupe in silver, grey, blue, amethyst, or coral red. Would also consider white.

Prefer under 100k miles and in good condition or better. Located in Seattle but location is not an issue.

If you are willing to travel you have many options. These cars must be inspected as they can easy be "a sheep in wolfs clothing"

This forum is perfect to raise questions. Most 968's are on the East Coast. Be patient and check all offers. Here are some:

Don't forget to use Ad Hunter or Auto Tempest. That's how I found my Cab in Los Angeles a few years ago.

Want easy? Buy a Camry  EmoticonCar ... these cars have always been somewhat rare, now we are 20 years down the road and clean, well maintained examples are becoming rarer and in more demand than ever...and you are looking for some of the rarest colors...

Good Luck with your search, getting there is half the fun,

Jay

Here's one, but I think the ad is incorrect. Price seems a bit high for a 968, even with the 911 mods and the low mileage.

This one seems like a pretty decent deal:

Ha, my first thought soon as the link opened was : wow, that 968 was demolished - "disfigured" - in what must have been a horrible accident so it's not surprising they're trying to sell it for essentially what a typical 968 salvage value would be ..

That was my thought as well! Such low mileage, I assume the owner was too embarrassed to take it out during the day.

Hi Speedvagen,

I'm looking at selling my 1994 Porsche 968, coupe, original "polar grey" color. I'm having to sell it because I'm having a baby coming in a few weeks, and unfortunately a car seat doesn't really fit in the back haha. I'm located in Vancouver, Canada, just a few hours north of Seattle. My car has 135k miles on it and it runs great! I just put on brand new tires on it.

My email is keenanmidgley@gmail.com and I'll send you some pictures.

Cheers,

Keenan

Amazon GREEN ?   I always thought the color name was Amazon BLUE..  I've seen one up close and in person, but over ten years ago... and it did appear to be a blue-tinted green...  and yes, with that " pearl effect "   .

Awesome child seat  !!!!!!

Typo corrected :-)

The colour does indeed change quite a bit, depending on the light. In California it would probably permanently green, lol.

Too bad they don't make these seats anymore, it doesn't meet today's standards anymore, so it's probably even illegal to still use it.

In any case, 30 years ago people would put their babies in a box in the trunk so it's still a great improvement :-))

Ok two thoughts

1) Find the best car you can, but color while important should not be the deciding item. You could always repaint it. There are so few good low mileage 968's out there.

2) I bought my car from RS Barn, and had it shipped using a company called Coast to Coast 800-794-9009 Ask for Kenda. I requested that my 968 be in the middle on the lower ramps. NOt on top nor in the front. They use open trailers. She obliged me and the car while a little dirty had no scratches or broken glass, They did a great job shipping me the car. A friend of mine recommended them to me as he shipped a car to Florida and back for 15 yeas. I think I paid $1200 from Pa to Portland OR.

Thanks Philippe, that car seat looks pretty good! You're making the process of selling my beauty all the more challenging. haha
