troubleshooting cooling fans
#1

Read before but cannot now find (after hour of searching, and yes I tried advance search feature) how to troubleshoot cooling fans that do not operate.
1- how to test if fans functional
2- how to test relay in fuse box
3- how to test switch

I have a multimeter.

On a side note, same day flasher (G4 in fuse-box) stopped working. Could there be any correlation?

Thanks!

Thanks PorscheDude, I thought I saw it somewhere. I'll assume that the cooling system and associated electronics were something that were not changed between the late model 944 and the 968.

you can verify the fans by disconnecting the temp switch and jumping a pair of pins on the harness - one pair will trigger the low speed fans and will come on with they key off, another pair will trigger the high speed fans but they need the key on

Clarks is a good starting point for diagnosing many probs. He has a lot of real experience with these type cars and the garage will show you exactly which ones to jump, instead of trying to guess which does what.
