I have been watching my temp gauge closely lately, as it seems to wander around a bit more than I remember.
While scouring the forum and educating myself on the function of this system, I thought a diagram might help me put it all together.
Here is what I came up with.
I would like to solicit input from the community on what I may have gotten wrong, or ideas for making the diagram more useful.
I had to guess on things like the temperatures corresponding to points on the dashboard gauge.
Comments appreciated.

Thanks for the encouragement Dave.
You are right on target saying that this is just a start.
I need help incorporating the heating system and HCV, the overflow tank, and perhaps some more detail on the relay function (including more specifics on things like what makes the fans kick on 5 seconds after the car is shut down).
How about the other temp thresholds on some of the different fan switches and thermostats?
I'm hoping to get some basic descriptions that I can fold into the diagram.
Anybody?
Jamie

This is an excellent start and idea! I would love a flow diagram for every system on the car.

+1 great contribution.
FYI Google also has a free 3d rendering tool called sketchup.
I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!

Excellent idea!
Unfortunately, I can't seem to use Google Docs from my computer at work...
Looks like it's blocked for security reasons. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/dry.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Perhaps someone will figure out a good process for direct collaboration on the drawing, but for now I was just hoping to get some dialog going.
Anybody know what the different thermostat temperatures are?
Anybody want to take a shot at describing how the HCV fits into the system?
Come on guys!
