Trim on car
#1

I'm afeard I is geeking out here but I bought different size paint brushes, small, and used them to recondition all the trim. This beater I bought had faded trim, mirrors and trim that had shriveled and just some beat looking trim. So I took Adams VTR squeezed it onto the different sizes and painted it on the trim. I used extra so plenty would absorb in. Then I just let it sit most was absorbed. Some needed to be wiped off but in general I was amazed at how it popped the look of the car. It took a long time and certainly is labor intensive, but it eliminates the fade and makes the trim look sharp. Probably will do another application this winter because it needs it long haul.

Super VRT is AWESOME stuff. It's water based too so it doesn't attract dust and dirt and completely dries to the touch. Then, when dry, is water repellent. That's why it's great on tires....no sling after application and keeps tires cleaner, longer. Use it on the spongy door seals to keep them soft and rubbery and help keep moisture out of your door jambs. Good job Rap!

Do u think Adams VTR is better for trim pieces-interior and exterior- or Wruths instrument paint?

I've not used Wruths and have only used VTR on the outside. Their are cleaners and leather conditioners that work pretty well on the inside.

That may actually be Wurth, just for future search edification.

Adam's Super VRT is a dressing and conditioner......If you're referring to the Wurth Trim product.....that is a spray paint. It's a wonderful paint and a factory match to practically all of the plastic and metal accents on most imported cars. Think Wiper arms, B Pillars, etc., so we're talking about two different process here......one is cleaning and treating, the other actually repainting/restoring.

big fan of the Adams Super VRT on all vinyl and rubber surfaces inside and out; if you're into the concours thing you'll appreciate that it dries completely without that 'armor-all' residue. Mother's Back to Black product has worked well for me in the past also.

I understand thanks for explaining the difference between Adams Super VRT and Wurth Trim. I know I will need both on my restoration project.

I have used Griots on restoring the color on my 968. I am amazed at the comeback from just dull. Just haven't used Adams for that. The clay worked well though!

I think Jay should update the girls on his car! Perhaps in his sustainable movement he might find room for them to help propagate this belief! Lol joking of course Jay! About the last comment. I know speaking for all the Forum members we would like to see an update of these young ladies.

The problem with this stuff is that a bottle of wax typically lasts years, so if you keep trying different products, you end up with a lot of bottles of barely-used products. Oh, well...

Perhaps you don't wax your car frequently enough!
