Torsion bar Indexing
#1

I'm looking to uprate my torsion bars on my 968 coupe. I was looking at some photos from the 968uk site, and it appears that Porsche did the right thing.

There is a cutout in the bodywork, under the sill covers for the torsion bar cover! Can anyone confirm this works? I looked on my car, and the hole seems to line up perfectly. When I did the torsion bars on the 924S, it was a bear, requiring the dropping of the entire rear assembly for each test alignment. Can you do a torsion bar index/replacement without doing a full assembly drop??

It makes it easier to slide the torsion bar out, but you still have to drop the whole assembly the old fashioned way. The problem is that you can't get the outside support piece to come off without dropping the front bushing out of it's slotted mount area.
