To Dan's point, the thing I've learned is that shifts come lower - around 5K. I have also become accustomed to free reving low displacment - love it. All things being equal (same transmission after all) the shifts come at a lower point (around 5K rather than 6500) and faster - which means that you get to 60 or 80 or whatever faster.
After a couple of weeks with this in the car I am really, really pleased. The car is just about perfect. My lovely wife doesn't particularly like our little 4-banger and recently suggested that I get my dream car. She thought I might be better off with a smooth riding Merc. So I thought about my "dream car". Forgoing the obvious 458 as I can't afford it I thought, hmmm, late model 911 turbo, a 2013 Boxter or maybe a Z4? I actually drove a 6-cylinder Z4 and what I determined is that the 968, with a few braces, the short shift kit, and this SC is my dream car. It's still extremely nimble and now it is seriously quick. I love it.
