Temp Gauge sender location?
#1

Hey guys,

I have a temp gauge that has started playing up (goes high) and would like to know where the sender is located?

Also, does anyone know the resistance vs gauge indication so I can test my gauge?

I recently had a waterpump fail and the car got hot, and it seems both my gauge and my thermofan swict have failed. Car is now running fine with a new waterpump but the overheating must've hurt the senders ( as unlikely as that sounds... )

Thanks,

Craig

I love the slippery slope of automotive excess...if only it did not take up so much time and resources (money, cut fingers, gashed knuckle....)

The basic human condition is one of stupidity....

I believe that is has been previously posted that the sender is inside the right mirror.

The technical knowledge on this forum is overwhelming :-)

My temp sender reads about 600 ohms with the engine warm. I'm guessing though that no-one here knows if that is correct or not ?...

Just FYI - The normal procedure for trouble shooting a gauge is to measure the sender, and/or send a fixed resistance to the gauge to check if it's the gauge or sender. I haven't seen a reference to that mentioned anywhere here before after searching all the gauge problem threads.

Cheers,

Craig

Excuse me chaps.

But isnt the original poster talking about the ENGINE water temp gauge..????

NOT the air temp gauge.??

Anyway Club Sports dont have a air temp gauge fitted. Its a clock.....Therefore there will be no probe in the mirror......
