Service Manual Sections, Some Missing?
#1

My Service Manual has sections numbered 3, 10, 13, 15, etc.

Is there no section 1 or 2, or 4 through 9, etc.?

If you are referring to the 968 manual, several of the sections are found in earlier 944 manuals. Apparently they did this as they are esentially the same. I've had to peruse several manuals to find what I wanted on several subjects.

Yes, I'm referring to the 968 Service Manuals, Volumes I through V. Each section in the manual is called a "Repair Group", and while there are several that refer back to the 944 Manual (for cylinder head, fuelt filter, fuel pressure, etc.), I'm more referring to the general layout of sections across volumes, which seems haphazard.

The major sections in the table of contents are 03, 10, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, and 28...

Yep, I think it's haphazard too. It not as good as the 944 manuals. They had a template to follow (944) but it seems someone decided to make it better.
