Sensor on oil pan
#1

Does anyone know what the wires and sensor on the side of the oil pan are for? The sensor is very loose and can be rotated easily and slightly dripping oil. So it's almost time for an oil change and am planning on fixing this minor problem.

Oil level sender. Be sure to order a new gasket for it.

It's an easy fix during an oil change. You have to take off the metal cover, and then carefully turn the sensor to clear the opening in the oil pan.

Mine leaked and it was great to have it all high and dry after changing the gasket.
