Seat styles (OEM)for the 968
#1

Just wondering what the correct description for these seats in my '92 968 would be? The passenger seat is the same, with same electric controls. (Looks like I am going to get something a little more aggressive and may put these up for sale.) Thanks for comments.

Cheers!

Does "Leatherette" mean the same as "partial leather"? My seat-backs and sides are vinyl, I believe, but definately not leather.

I had my drivers seat recovered and it is now all leather. It turns out Porsche does not offer partial (back) leather anymore. In addition, I had the passenger seat dyed on Saturday at Daryl's Odds and Ends shop. The seat looks brand new. It was a fantastic transformation. The seat wasn't in bad shape just a lot of little cracks. I will try and get some pictures. I didn't get the before shots.

Scott,
Porsche uses two digit alpha codes to indicate the seat color and material type. There were almost 100 different seat codes used on the NA 968 during its 4 years of production. Your car most likely has code "LT". That would be partial leather in black. Other interior options include cloth seats, 2 types and full leather seats and full leather seats with additional leather around the interior like the lower dash, console, door panels and pulls. There additoinal seat options such as full 8 way power, heated, lumbar, and sport, but those are separate options. What else would you like to know?

That's all great!

Jeff, (et al.)

I want to make sure that I describe them properly if I offer them for sale. Thanks very much for chiming in with your knowledge and expertise.
