RS Barn Custom Software
#1

RS Barn has just released Custom Performance Software

RS Barn is proud to introduce the Best custom Software for your 968

Extensive Dyno testing and tuning offers the most HP and Torque available on the market today.

RS Barn uses a Eddy Current load Dyno to simulate road conditions and only measures increases in power- not acceleration like most other Dynos.

Stage 1, Chip is for stock cars with Airbox mods or external air filter. Best HP and TQ in the business, I tested all the rest $139.00

Stage 2. Softwareware is for 968's with Airbox mods and RS Barn Header with stock cat back or RS Barn cat back. Wow!!! Lots of HP and gobs of TQ $179.00

Stage 3. Designed for RS Barn Performance Cams, Header, Airbox Mods. Really incredible power and torque. Equivilent to 993 non vario motor $179.00

Sounds great. Is there a link to a data page where we can read more and order?

I didn't even get info on my web site yet. I've been so busy with lots of projects and customer work. I was also tired of the what's best chip stuff. I know what the best is. If you need any info just email me

does this mean that you've finished the cam development as well????

very curious how that turned out. is it just a better high end or power across the whole spectrum???

makes one wonder what's next out of pete's bag of tricks!!!!

perhaps a jet engine like the old batmobile

Hey Flash, didn't you put on the entire RSBarn exhaust, headers included? What did the butt-ometer say about that mod?

yes i do

buttometer very happy - definitely can feel change - car is stupid fast now - actualy contemplating having to make suspension changes now to compensate - still getting used to it - preliminary g-tech runs show gains too - i hesitate to say how much, because they were rough runs and not nearly as controlled as i would have liked - didn't have the time

software not installed yet - not sure if i will have time until mid march though - trying

ok - got a chance to do some runs - i did 3 runs minimum each time - i always got at least 2 runs to match, with the other being no more than 1hp different - each time i followed g-tech's instructions carefully, and calculated for weight, including the things i've removed, added, etc, including amount of fuel, so i am sure i am within 10 lbs on each run - all runs were on 91 octane - sorry, i have no pics for the first 3 setups - i wasn't that bright

initial runs bone stock were 236

runs with racer x chip, and my old ram air/large snorkel intake were at 254

runs with racer x chip, power pulleys, modded airbox, my cat-back, fuel pressure +6 were 268

today though, i remembered to take pics - woohoo

here you go:

modded intake box, +6psi fuel, power pulleys, rs barn header & cat-back, racer x chip

modded intake box, stock fuel, power pulleys, rs barn header & cat-back, rs barn stage 2 chip

we're having some fun now

i've never seen one before.

i should have asked this last time.

why'd you bump the fuel press back on the final run?

wouldn't that have pushed the hp up a tad more?

it's a g-tech - you can get one nowadays for about 30 bucks - rustech knows the site to get them that cheap - amazingly accurate little thing if you operate it correctly

on the fuel pressure, no - pete did his development on stock pressure, and said that power actually went down when he bumped it up, so i dropped it back down

following the expert's advice here - clearly, it works

Pete,

If I plan on getting your cat-back exhaust and not the headers, which option should I go with?

Pete ,

You would go with stage 1.

I will have a trade in program for those who later step up to a header.

Bob,

When are you due for a smog check..? It'll be interesting to see if your car still runs clean.

To get a bump above the p-max & spd-6 chips the "firmware" would have to fat'n the a/f mix or lengthen the duration. Adjustment of the timing is limited due to the octane.

( 1 short of ) 50 f-n' horses above stock, without a s/c or a turbo is...

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !

pete - long time before smog check for me - however, i had this conversation with pete - he assures me this is not an issue, and based on how clean it runs anyway, i am not suspecting any problems

also, actually, the other chip was much fatter, especially down low - on top of that i was running even fatter with the increased fuel pressure - this should actually burn cleaner

dan - yup - my thoughts and feelings too

yeah - i was pretty happy myself - i could feel that each step of the way was better, but until i did that last set of runs, i didn't know how much - i've always said that 275 was within reach, and thought 280-285 was too - turns out it looks like i was right

i don't know what all the skepticism was about 2 years ago when i first got into this car, and the "experts" on another board were saying that "porsche knew what they were doing" and "they got all there is out of the motor" - clearly they didn't get it all

now i'm already thinking about the head and cams - looks like 300 is doable in street trim for a couple grand more

what really has me excited is what the head, cams and such would be like with a low boost supercharger - it is concievable to have 350hp on very little boost - that means no intercooler and no headaches - i've already got a line on a company that could set up a unit that would let me keep the a/c, be smog legal, and less than 5 grand complete with everything, and ready for a weekend bolt on job - this all seems to make it that much easier

ah, but that's another day
