Rims for a 968
#1

Hi, any insights on whether these will fit the 968 and if spacer would be needed? Will offset be close to the factory 17" 993 Cup (Cup2's) at 9" rear and 7.5" front? Thanks.

what is "H2 @ 2 mags"?

the 993 Cup 9" wheels (misnomered as Cup 2) are 55 offset rear, so the 9.5" with a 52 offset will push out a bit (8mm), but will fit fine, and should actually look pretty darned good for fit

the 993 Cup 7.5" fronts are 65 offset, so the 8" with a 49 offset will also push out (22mm), but should fit, depending on the tire and ride height - i would check those

if they do fit, you may get some wander or tramlining though, and may need to reduce toe up front

no worries - mine are also very far outside offset, and it did create a bit of wander and tramline - i corrected most of it by reducing front toe set - the largest part of the remainder is in the tire choice - hopefully the next set won't be as bad as these S0-3s which are known to tramline as it is

Here's mine with Kinesis Super Cups (17/9" & 17/8") - similar to your first option (concave vs convex spokes) but may be you can get the idea of what they would look like...

Here's another pix for you...

As to the Hankook's they were good when they were new, but didn't age that well - got pretty hard after about three years but also were really cheap at the time . They have now been replaced with Bridgestone S04's that are still pretty new but I am liking...

I am considering trying some Porsche 997 18 inch 5 star wheels on my 92 cab. Fronts are 8x18 ET57, Rears are 10x18, ET58. Any advice or warnings?

Thanks,

Matt

Mark.    Are those Veloce wheels or 3 piece copies of the 3.6?

3 piece RH copies that Flash was kind enough to pickup and ship cross country to me since the seller did not want to ship. I ended up bending two of them when I was forced off the road by a large truck on a narrow country road and they sat in my shed for two years while I got around to repairing them. Ended up selling them all bent up for more than I paid. Smile

I have a set of Kinesis 3.6's and love them.  I was asking because I know someone that is thinking about a set of Veloce wheels.  Other than people saying they are a bit heavy I was looking for an opinion from someone who actually has a set on a car.
